Finding Therapy and Counselling in BC

BC Counselling Referral Networks Initiative

Finding a qualified counsellor or therapist can feel like a daunting task. Those looking for therapy and counselling in British Columbia can access counselling referral networks covering different regions in the province. At present, these include the Greater Vancouver, Greater Victoria, and Greater Kelowna areas.

These referral networks help clients connect with experienced counsellors and psychotherapists who have completed graduate-level clinical education and whose professional work is governed by the ethical standards of recognized professional Colleges and professional associations.

Minimum qualifications at the time of joining these referral networks include holding a graduate degree (MA, MEd, PhD); having at least 5 years post-graduate experience; and, having professional designations recognized BC-wide as members of the BC Association of Clinical Counsellors (RCC), BC College of Social Workers (RSW), or the College of Psychologists of British Columbia (RPsych).
